These services aim to uphold a healthy and safe living environment when the individual typically responsible for these tasks is unavailable or unable to manage them. Covered benefits are exclusively provided for the benefit of the member and are not intended to benefit other household residents. Furthermore, these services are not rendered solely due to a child’s disability resulting in additional household duties. Instead, they are intended to support the member’s well-being and comfort within their living space.

The services provided must enhance the parent’s or caregiver’s capacity to provide necessary care for the child. This assistance can involve hands-on support, completing tasks on behalf of the child, or guiding the child to complete tasks independently. Importantly, these services are restricted to the permanent living area of the member, ensuring that the support directly benefits the child’s care within their home environment.
